The Craft

TEXTILE CHOREOGRAPHY

I weave each fabric entirely by hand, placing utmost importance on the weaving gesture. With every movement, I seek the perfect balance of amplitude and flexibility, striving for an authentic, mindful act.

Weaving is an experience that engages the mind, body, and soul in harmony. This choreographed process breathes life into the fabric, infusing it with substance and poetry. The weaver’s intention and energy are reflected in the subtle variations of the fabric, creating a vibrant, living piece with a singular soul.

Weaving is a dance, a rhythm, a breath in motion

I work on a fully manual loom, guided by principles unchanged for a thousand years. Its sophisticated simplicity allows for a remarkable range of patterns and the creation of an almost limitless variety of projects.

About twenty steps are necessary to produce a fabric, from warping to washing, fulling and ultimate finishing.

I carry out and control each of these steps manually to guarantee perfect control of the final result.

Each piece is one-of-a-kind and numbered, with its history documented and archived.

Together, they create a universal collection of landscapes and stories meant to carry on through time and be passed down to future generations.
