The Pattern
Fabrics brimming with stories, landscapes, poetry and memory
I design stoles, scarves, plaids and other fabrics taking my inspiration from natural or urban landscapes, interpreting stories and life journeys, as well as playing with geography, with words, literature and music.
I am also committed to reviving and enhancing the largely forgotten wealth of European textile vocabulary, whose heritage has gradually been depleted by industrialization, concerned with optimization and profitability.
In this way, I immerse myself in history and draw inspiration from patterns compiled in weavers’ catalogues from the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries, which I assimilate and interpret.
Telling about a journey, an atmosphere, an inner landscape....
I deeply believe that fabric has the power to tell a story and to echo the life, emotions and intimate landscapes of the person who wears it.
Because it is our very first and also last contact with the material world, because it protects and sublimates us, textile constitutes one of our most intimate bonds with the world.

In its own way, with its patterns and colors inspired by the moors, the hills and the lochs of Scotland, tweed perfectly illustrates this connection to the world.

When my son was born, I wanted to weave myself the very first fabric that would touch and swaddle him: through the patterns I wove, I inscribed, like on a talisman, his legacy, my hopes and my wishes for a happy and fulfilling life.
Its evocative power makes it an important source of inspiration for my work, for very diverse fabrics that extend well beyond tweeds.
